Detox Cleansing

Detoxification is the process of cleaning toxins from the body, clearing the excess mucus and congestion. These toxins come from our diet, drug use and environmental exposure. Fats and cholesterols turn into toxins in our bodies which can cause poor digesting and colon problems. This can lead to reduced liver function, kidney issues and even skin and respiratory tract problems.
Detoxing involes making lifestyle and diet changes that will rdeduce the amount of toxins you intake and clear out the ones that are already in the body. You aim to avoid chemicals that are in foods, such as refined sugars, caffeine, alcohol and tobacco, as well as other drugs you may be taking. In particular, when doing a colon detox, it is important you keep up your probiotic intake as this will replenish the intestinal flora you’ve lost from the toxins in your body which will help you during the detox.
Technically, our body is detoxing all the time, when it naturally expels toxins from our body. However sometimes, especially with the amount of toxins in today’s society, it needs a helping hand. Low energy, stress and abdominal problems are all symptoms of a body full of bad toxins. When we are detoxing we can experience several symptoms such as rashes, headaches and bad breath. These symptoms indicate the body is working properly and that the toxins are being eliminated. Usually these symptoms will last no longer than 3 days and they can be eased. Drinking a lot of water during a detox is essential for kidney and liver health and can also help avoid some of these symptoms.

Good practical info – thanks.
Great article, thank you. I am very interested in finding a diet that lowers my sugar intake. I currently have a sweet-tooth, and am finding it difficult to find meal plans, what to eat for snacks, etc. While diabetes is not something that runs in my family, I am still concerned and would like to be smart and take a proactive approach to my health.
