Colon Cleanse Epsom Salts
Epsom Salts to Cleanse Your Colon?
Some people have used Epsom Salts as a colon cleanser, taking the magnesium sulphate (mgso4 7h2o) either orally or as an enema. But it is a rather severe solution to the problem of constipation and is not the ideal solution.
Epsom salts acts as a strong laxative cleaning the colon of mucoid plaque, compacted faecal matter, toxins, parasites and bacteria. Unfortunately the salts are so strong that they will also strip your digestive system of all the good bacteria as well. It is a much better idea to use an internal colon cleanser that has been designed to clean your colon much less aggressively. And if you were planning on using the Epsom salts as an enema it would be a safer option to go to a registered hydrotherapy spa or clinic and get your colon cleaned professionally.
Magnesium Sulphate
Epsom Salts contains magnesium sulphate, one tablespoon of it contains about 35g of magnesium sulphate, the daily-recommended allowance of elemental magnesium is between 300-400 mg (milligrams) per day so one tablespoon is a lot! What many people do not realize is that ingesting too much Epsom salt can make you very sick and has sometimes resulted in death.
Do Not Use Epsom Salts If
Epsom salts is not a recommended treatment even if you are healthy but you should definitely not use Epsom Salts internally if your have any of the following symptoms: stomach pain, vomiting, or nausea, diverticulitis, internal or external haemorrhoids, or any sort of internal bleeding. Nor if you are taking any of the following drugs: tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, oxytetracycline, digoixin, and nitrofurantoin.
How much Epsom Salts
If you are going to use Epsom Salts as a colon cleanser, or as a laxative for constipation make sure you are using salts meant for internal use. Although other instructions say use 3 to 4 tablespoons of Epsom Salts, I would recommend only using one teaspoonful in 20 fl ozs of water. And beware, it does take affect quickly and if is very effective! It would be safer to use a more gentle laxative than this.
Epsom Salt Cleanse Reviews
An alternative to Epsom Salts is to use a colon cleansing product that has been formulated to gently clear out the colon, correct the balance of internal flora and leave your body ready to begin a healthy diet of high fibre foods including lots of fresh vegetables and fruit.
